Indicative Project Timeline
The RubyHillsWind Project is likely to be a staged development in 2-3 sections. Work has started on the first stage of a four stage plan, with the final stage and eventual operation of the project slated for 2025.
Wind monitoring and flora & fauna environmental studies have been underway since September 2020 which will continue as the project progresses.
Interested host landholders have been established, immediate neighbour meetings have been completed. The design of the RubyHillsWind project will evolve over time, taking into consideration the views of host landholders, immediate neighbours, and the wider community. WalchaEnergy are currently focusing on the submission of the RubyHillsWind Scoping Report to the NSW State Government. We expect to make the submission by September 2022.
An immense amount of investigative work is required to develop renewable projects - finding and securing locations, obtaining planning approvals and finalising designs - the complete process could take from 3 to 6 years.
